WINNER 2016 NEW FILMMAKERS FROM SPAIN “THE SUITOR”

Synopsis
October 30th, 1938. During Orson Welles' infamous radio broadcast of War of the Worlds, a lonely man tries to bond with a panicked young woman as they fearfully wait for the end of the world together.

BIO
Álvaro Congosto is a Spanish filmmaker and Film Professor located in the United States East Coast. He teaches Film Production at Wheaton College and Boston University, where he obtained his MFA in Film Production as a Fulbright Grantee.

Besides winning the New Filmmakers from Spain contest, The Suitor has also screened at worldwide prestigious festivals such as Montreal World Film Festival, Fort Lauderdale Film Festival or New Jersey International Film Festival, where it also received the Best Short Film Award.
